Why use bullion calculators?

Bullion calculators help collectors and stackers make faster decisions by converting live metal prices into useful numbers. Instead of looking only at a dealer price, you can estimate melt value, premium, price per gram and total precious metal content.

That makes it easier to compare coins, bars and rounds before buying, selling or adding items to your Bullion Tracker collection.

Gold, silver and precious metal investing

Gold and silver are commonly priced by the troy ounce, but many collectors think in grams, sovereigns, coins, bars or total stack value. Bullion Tracker's tools are designed to bridge that gap so you can understand the numbers behind your collection.

These calculators are for education and tracking only. Dealer prices, premiums, postage, condition and demand can all affect the final buy or sell price.

Frequently asked questions

What is the melt value of a coin?

The melt value is the estimated value of the precious metal inside a coin, bar or round. It is based on the item's metal, weight, purity and current spot price.

How do you calculate a bullion premium?

A bullion premium is the difference between the metal value and the price being charged. The premium calculator shows that difference as a value and percentage.

What is the gold silver ratio?

The gold silver ratio shows how many ounces of silver are equal in value to one ounce of gold. Some collectors use it to compare whether gold or silver looks relatively expensive.

How much gold is in a sovereign?

A full gold sovereign contains approximately 0.2354 troy ounces of pure gold. The sovereign calculator uses this to estimate total gold weight and melt value.
