The 1989 1oz Gold Philharmonic bullion coin is struck by the Austrian Mint in Vienna in .9999 fine gold. This is the first year of issue for the one-ounce Gold Philharmonic, introducing Thomas Pesendorfer’s musical design with the Musikverein pipe organ on the obverse and Vienna Philharmonic instruments on the reverse. As the launch year of Europe’s flagship gold bullion coin, it carries stronger collector interest than most standard bullion dates.
