The 2017 1oz Silver Britannia Special Edition Coin — 20th Anniversary Design is struck by The Royal Mint from one troy ounce of .999 fine silver. It celebrates the 20th anniversary of the silver Britannia programme, linking the modern fine-silver era back to the first 1997 proof issue.
The coin retains Britannia as the central design subject, while the obverse carries the monarch portrait used for the year of issue. The special edition treatment gives the coin a separate identity from the standard bullion release.
