Description

The 2024 Gold Sovereign - Proof was struck by The Royal Mint in 22-carat gold to Proof standard. The obverse features king charles iii first definitive coinage portrait by martin jennings, while the reverse carries st George and the Dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci. The first Proof Sovereign pairing the King's definitive portrait with Pistrucci's reverse. The full Sovereign follows the traditional specification of approximately 7.98 grams, 22.05 millimetres in diameter and around 0.2352 troy ounces of fine gold. Specially prepared dies and planchets create sharply defined relief and reflective fields. The coin was supplied in official Royal Mint presentation packaging and may also have been included in multi-coin Sovereign proof sets.
