Description

The 1925 Perth Mint Gold Sovereign features King George V's bare-head portrait facing left by Bertram Mackennal and Benedetto Pistrucci's St George and the dragon reverse. It is identified by P mintmark below the horse. Struck as a full Sovereign in 22-carat gold, the coin weighs approximately 7.98 grams, contains about 7.32 grams of fine gold and has a nominal diameter of 22.05 mm. George V Sovereigns retained the established Sovereign specification while production shifted increasingly to branch mints during and after the First World War.
